Avoid using a "transient" email address...

Using a personal email address will allow us to remain in contact even if there is a change to your employment status. When it makes sense to do so, avoid the use of .mil or work email addresses.

If you are creating an account in order to represent an organization, you will most likely want to use an email address provided by the organization.

Choose a strong password...

A reasonably strong password would consist of at least 8 characters and would contain a mix of letters, numbers and punctuation. Choose a password that would be difficult for others to guess, avoiding variations of names of family members, pets, company names, etc.

Avoid using common substitutions of numbers for letters. For example, "h3ll0", would be considered no more secure than "hello". Instead, try to mix numbers and punctuation into your password in a less predictable manner.
